Remedy for the Weather Blues

Here is a TEMPORARY remedy for the weather blues:

1. Set up an indoor picnic in front of the television.

2. Watch the Sound of Music and sing the songs really loud with your children.

3. Don't watch the entire movie in one sitting because it is really long, so repeat steps 1 and 2 the following day.

Sounds like a great idea! Only problem, I'm a horrible singer. Even my 3-year-old daughter knows that and asks me to stop when I do try to sing. But I will definately do the picnic and movie idea.

Not watch the whole thing? Saebra would die! Good idea though. The weather has been good enough here to actually have a real picnic. I would like to hear you guys sing though.

Brilliant! My concern is that my kids won't like The Sound of Music. They've never seen it, so with the exception of Kaleigh, no one would be interested and I'M the only that would know the songs. Scarey thought! BUt the picnic is ON!!!

Yep, I agree with Tanya, come back and visit your buds in Arizona!! Then, when we're having weather blues in July, we'll come up there and visit you!

What Tanya and Jennae - come back and visit?! No, come move back, that will cure your winter weather blues for sure! I love love love The Sound of Music, and love/hate that it is so long. Love it because it's such a great story with wonderful songs, but hate it because to watch it all in one sitting is a little much. Hope your blues go away!

Love the idea-we do a little of our own version but we watch Mary Poppins instead and I am usually asleep on the couch with Ava while Austin sings away to the movie!

I love love love Sound Of Music! My friends and I used to have SOM night and sing along. However, Robby doesn't share our love of the classic WWII musical. Sad. Have fun belting it out...sing one for me.

Great idea! I keep forgetting which of my kids have seen what and which movie classics they absolutely have to see before they leave our home (in like a million years)! We should start with this one though- it is tony the tiger grrreat!

That is too funny. I just made john sit through the ending of that with me just the other day. I had started it earlier with the baby while cleaning and made him finish it. Great movie but yes, definately a long movie!

I didn't know there was such a thing as Lyric having any sort of blues. But I would agree The Sound of Music is a fabulous movie. If you want a great laugh just picture Steve in those leder hosen thingies.
